Working on Engine Detail and Prop

A busy week at work including an overnight conference interfered with the next stages of the build, but I am back at it now.

After an coat of flat black the exhaust are dry brushed in Testors Rust.

While waiting for the engine to dry I undercoat the caban struts with Flat Black.

And set up the prop for painting. Tamiya Desert Yellow is the base coat.

Followed by ModelMaster Wood.

Now the engine is dry I go back to add some more detail.

I also put some Tamiya smoke on the wing where the exhaust pipes would have directed the
wonderful mixture of oil, gas, and fumes that came out of these engines. The paint is still
wet in this image. When it is dry the effect will be more subtle.

The caban struts on this aircraft were made of metal tubing so I put some metallic grey on them.
