Back to the Bench

Busy week with run on Wednesday night, Geoff visiting Thursday night, and Halloween Friday night. Thank goodness for the weekend. Working on masking off and painting access panels today.

Making masks for the access panels using a punch set purchased at the dollar store in the scrapbook section.

Once the mask is cut, it is applied to the access panel area.

Then burnished down with a toothpick.

There are lots of access panels on the aircraft.

Nine access panels in total.

The masking job looks good. Now I can start painting. Applying a black base colour.

While I wait for the base coat to dry, I set about prepping the exhaust pipes for painting. I found out you should leave these off until the fuselage is painted as they just get in the way and are very very fragile.
