More work done on the 1/48 Modelcraft Harvard. There are some issues with the kit which I will describe as I go through the build.
Dry fitting the cockpit.
Cockpit components glued in place. I deviated from the plans here, as dry fitting using the plan method revealed the cockpit frame would not align with the edges of the fuselage.
When I put the fuselage together, I noticed that you would be able to see into the void forward of the cockpit. I made a bulkhead out of a piece of a plastic bookmark.
Then painted the bulkhead.
Getting the fuselage and cockpit to align was a pain.
Still not perfect. Looking at the plans and the cockpit, it looks like I will be making a floor for the cockpit area.
I tried dry brushing the instrument panel, but the detail was so light dry brushing didn't bring it out. Luckily, the plans included an image of the instrument panel. I found a copy of the plans online. I photoshopped the image, made a negative image, and scales the image to fit on the kit panel. Not super detailing, but the instrument panel looks better.
The image enhanced instrument panel.
Instrument panels mounted in the cockpit.
Instrument cowlings in place.
