Desert Eagle - Stuka - Airfix - 1/72

This was one of my first builds when I got back into modeling and a long time ago it was my first model build ever. I remember sitting at the kitchen table with my Dad building the original kit together. To carry on the tradition, I built this one with my son.

Fleet Air Arm - Kingfisher - Airfix - 1/72

This is my build of the old Airfix kit. It was one of my first builds when I was getting back into modeling. I have always loved the different look of the Kingfisher. I now have a 1/48 version that is in the building queue.

Heavy Metal - Junkers D.1 - Eduard - 1/72

This is my build of the Junkers D.1 in 1/72 scale. This aircraft was used for ground attack and made its debut near the end of the war. The decals in this kit splintered when I apply decal set. So be warned. You can also see silvering under the decal by the cockpit. A quick and fun build.

Walfisch - Roland C.II - Eduard - 1/48

This is my build of Eduard's "weekend edition" version of their excellent model of the Roland C.II. For those who are rigging adverse you will be please to note the C.II has little rigging to contend with when compared with some of the more complex rigging schemes of the period.

Red 14 - Me1101 - Dragon - 1/72

This is my build of Dragon's version of the Me1101. The radar antennae are photo etched and a bit trick to get in the correct positions. Work one at a time an use an accelerator to dry the glue faster.

Royal Canadian Navy Fairey Firefly - Frog - 1/72

This is my out of the box or more properly "out of the bag" build of an old Frog kit.

Arado Im Winter - HobbyCraft - Ar234 - 1/48

This is my 1/48 HobbyCraft Arado 234. Additions to the cockpit include Waldron photoetched-metal foot pedals, Aires wheel bay and cockpit sets, and frames scratchbuilt from wire and plastic rod. I used colored thread soaked in white glue for extensive wiring in the cockpit, and fine fishing line for the radio antenna. Masking with Glad Press ’n’ Seal, I airbrushed a German splinter scheme with Tamiya colours and applied Eagle Strike decals.

Welcome

Welcome to my blog about building and painting plastic model aircraft. I am sure I will occasionally stray and end up building scifi, armour, space, and figures, but the main thrust (get it?) is plastic model aircraft.
